The Tatar balaclava is a protective weapon from the former Tartary .

description

The Tatar balaclava is usually made of iron or steel . It is driven in half and roughly riveted after completion . It is rounded at the bottom and narrows towards the tip. At the top it is slightly pointed and curved backwards. It has a small, forward tapered visor. The neck protection is short, runs steeply upwards and is riveted to the helmet on the sides. A visor was not provided. The Tatar balaclava was used by the Tatar horsemen.
