Taternberger and Steigertal gang train

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Taternberger and Steigertaler Gangzug , which ran between Lautenthal and the Innerste dam in the Harz Mountains , had little mining significance. The vein disturbance belonging to the Upper Harz veins had a connection with the Gegental vein train via the Hahnental vein and clustered with it near the King David mine on Borberg . The Taternberger and Todtemannsgrunder Gang unite south of the Kötental to the Steigertaler Gang .

Paragenesis, peculiarities

Chalcopyrite , galena , siderite and limonite occurred to a small extent on the Taternberger and Steigertaler corridor , which were fused with the cores calcite , dolomite , quartz and barite .

Outcrops

The gangway is identified by water outlets in the Tatern Valley , on the Taternberg and in the Kötental.

Overview of mining history

The mining activities are essentially limited to the Morgenröthe and Bismarck pits in Taterngrund and Steigertal , where galena and copper gravel were to be explored in test tunnels and shafts .
