Tatjana Dmitrijewna Panowa ( Russian Татьяна Дмитриевна Панова ; * 1949 ) is a Soviet - Russian mediaevalist .

Life

Panowa studied at the Lomonosov University Moscow (MGU) in the historical faculty (IstFak).

Panova became a research assistant at the Moscow Kremlin State Museum Reserve . There she is head of the archeology department.

Panowa's main research interests are medieval Moscow , medieval Russia and, in particular, grave research. She took part in excavations in the Moscow Kremlin. In 1990 Panowa successfully defended her dissertation at the MGU on urban burial rites in medieval Russia between the 11th and 16th centuries.
