Tatyana Semyonovna Baryschewa ( Russian Татьяна Семёновна Барышева * 31 December 1896 in Moscow , Russian Empire ; † 10. February 1979 ibid, RSFSR , USSR ) was a Soviet theater - and film - Actress .

Life and accomplishments

Barysheva was born into a family of railroad workers. She graduated from high school by 1914 and then studied at the Moscow Philharmonic. After graduating in 1918, she temporarily worked as a journalist for the All-Russian Central Executive Committee in Tver and began training as an actress in 1921. From 1924 Baryschewa could be seen on the stage and soon earned a reputation as a comedy actress. In 1945 she was hired by the Moscow State Theater of Film Actors. On January 16, 1957, Bryschewa retired, but could still be seen occasionally in front of the camera.

Baryschewa made her film debut in 1925 as a farmer in Морока Moroka . She initially worked for the Sowkino and Meschrabnomfilm studios, but switched to Sojuskino in 1931 ( Mosfilm from 1935 ). When the studio staff were evacuated to Alma-Ata as a result of the Great Patriotic War , Barysheva stayed in Moscow and worked for the Philharmonic. In 1943, Mosfilm was relocated to the Soviet capital, so that she returned to the camera after a three-year break.

Baryschewa mainly served the genres of drama , melodrama and comedy , but was also seen in four fairy tale films by Alexander Rous and in the literary adaptations The Work of Artamanovs (1941) based on Maxim Gorky and Breakfast at the Leader (1953) based on Ivan Turgenev . She often played the role of the resolute Russian, good-natured aunt or grandmother. From 1948 to 1968, Barysheva also voiced characters in seven animated films , including the wicked stepmother in The Twelve Months . Her filmography comprises 70 works, she only embodied supporting and extras roles .

In 1977, Barysheva moved into a retirement home for former actors and died two years later.
