detail

The pigeon tower (French colombier or pigeonnier ) in Paussac, a district of the French commune Paussac-et-Saint-Vivien in the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was built in the 17th century. The pigeon tower stands on a field south of the village.

The round tower made of plastered limestone blocks has a narrow door on the south side. At the beginning of the upper third, a stone cornice surrounds the building. The roof is covered with diamond-shaped stone slabs. On the southwest side of the roof there is an ornate dormer window with six holes for the pigeons to access. The roof is crowned by a finial with a ball.
