Tauno Mikko Lappalainen (born March 10, 1898 in Ruokolahti , † January 25, 1973 in Liperi ) was a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Lappalainen, who started for the Viipurin Urheilijat and the Liperin Kivekkäät, won third place over 10 km and over 50 km at the Lahti Ski Games in 1924 and won the 30 km run the following year. He also took second place over 50 km. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1926 , he won the silver medal over 30 km and 50 km. Two years later he came in sixth place over 50 km at the Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1930 he won the bronze medal over 17 km. His last international race was at the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . There he was seventh over 50 km.

His brother Martti was also active as a cross-country skier.
