Tauschwitz is a district of the municipality of Kaulsdorf in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

Tauschwitz can be reached via federal highway 85 . The district is located on the Saaleknie, just a few kilometers from Kaulsdorf to the south. To the right and left of the Saale, tiered and plateau-like heights of the Southeast Thuringian Slate Mountains .
history
Tauschwitz was first mentioned in a document in 1379. The settlement and development of the village went hand in hand with the development of Kaulsdorf and Saalfeld . Unlike the two places, however, Tauschwitz was until 1918 in the Leutenberg area of the supremacy of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
