Taxiride are a rock band that formed in Australia in 1997 . According to their own statements, their music is based on bands such as Led Zeppelin , Pink Floyd , the Beatles , Deep Purple , Yes , Queens of the Stone Age , Jeff Buckley , Radiohead or INXS .

Band history

Taxiride started writing songs in 1997. After they got a record deal with Warner Music Australia in 1998, things went uphill. The first album Imaginate reached number 1 on the Australian charts and got double platinum status. In 2001 the band worked on their 2nd album Garage Mahal , which was released in 2002 and also made it into the top 5. After touring Europe and Japan, the band members returned to the studio in 2004 to work on the next album, Axiomatic , which was not released in Europe. In 2006 the album Electrophobia was released worldwide .
