Teana , French Village de Teana , is a village on the Fangatau atoll of the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia . The place is located about 960 km from the main island of Tahiti .
geography
Teana is the only town on the island . The houses are spread over the entire island. The rest of the village is connected to the neighboring island by a bridge .
The place has a size of approx. 6 km², approx. 5 km² lie on the inland lagoon . The name is derived from the word for Grotte te ana .
According to a census in August 2012, 145 people lived in the village (24 / km²), in 2007 there were 121 inhabitants.
