The Techirghiol Lake is located in Romania directly on the Black Sea in Techirghiol , between the beach resorts Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud .

Techirghiol Lake is the largest salt lake in the country and has an area of around 11 km². The microfauna and flora of the sea water, which is rich in salt and minerals, is adapted to the environment. It consists of bacteria , green algae and crustaceans .
The digested sludge from the lake is used for spa treatments in the neighboring bathing and health resorts of Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud. The treatments are said to be effective for rheumatic and endocrine diseases.
