The Staatliche Technikerschule Neumarkt id OPf. in Neumarkt id OPf. is the only state technical school in Bavaria with a focus on civil engineering - energy-saving building and electrical engineering / information technology - smart energy and, from September 2019, with the new specialization in mechanical engineering - smart factory. The two-year full-time course leads to a state-certified technician in the fields of civil engineering , electrical engineering or mechanical engineering and prepares them for a responsible position in the middle management level. There are no school fees at the school. In order to earn a living, the Office for Educational Support can grant advancement BAföG during this training .

The school was opened in Neumarkt idOPf for the 2012/13 school year. approved by the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and Art and has at the Staatl. Vocational school center (BSZ) Neumarkt idOPf. started operations. Within a very short time, the focus on energy-saving building became an important pillar in the field of sustainable building and renovation.
The technical school was expanded in the school year 2016/17 to include electrical engineering / information technology-smart energy. This created a competence center for sustainable building and intelligent energy supply in Neumarkt.
In the 2019/20 school year, the third area of the technical school started with the mechanical engineering smart factory, which became another important location advantage for the Neumarkt idOPf economic area. created and expanded the competence center.
Admission criteria
According to the technical school regulations (FSO), admission according to § 5 FSO is possible if:
- "... a completed vocational training relevant for the training course in a state-recognized training occupation with a standard training duration of at least two years and a subsequent relevant professional activity of at least one year or

Department of Construction Technology - Energy-Saving Construction
The aim of the training is to qualify specialists with relevant professional experience as state-certified construction technicians with a focus on energy-saving construction .
After developing basic knowledge and methods, in the second year you will specialize in a modular system of elective subjects and the profile subject "Energy-Saving Building". Practical building exercises, project work, the application-related use of industry software and specialist excursions should ensure practical training.
Department of Electrical and Information Technology - Smart Energy
The aim of the training is to qualify specialists with professional experience as state-certified electrical engineers .
After basic knowledge and skills of electrical engineering and information technology are imparted in the first part of the training, in the second year there is a specialization with elective subjects and the profile subject Smart Energy. Action scenarios from the areas of smart grid , smart meter and smart home are planned, programmed and implemented with development systems. Basics of business processes and cost calculation are also taught.
Department of Mechanical Engineering - Smart Factory
The aim of the training is to qualify specialists with professional experience as state-certified mechanical engineering technicians in the Smart Factory.
In the first part of the training, basic knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering are imparted. In the second year of training, there is a specialization in the focus on Industry 4.0 with elective subjects and the Smart Factory profile subject. Application scenarios from the areas of Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things , intelligent networks, wireless communication and robot technology are planned, programmed and implemented with modern development systems. Basics in the area of construction, machine elements , materials science and technical mechanics are also deepened, as are the basics of business administration and cost calculation .
