The Technical and Natural Sciences University of Pohang (POSTECH) is a world-renowned university in Pohang . In 1998, Asiaweek ranked it as the best science and technology university in Asia.
Together with the Max Planck Society , the university operates the Max Planck-POSTECH / Hsinchu Center for Complex Phase Materials , which is dedicated to the modeling and manufacture of high-purity materials and compounds ( phase transformation ). The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids and the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research are also involved .
