Burgstrasse 6

The Wolgast technical town hall is the seat of the mayor and most of the administrative offices of the city of Wolgast in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located in Wolgast's old town at Burgstrasse 6, opposite the confluence with Langen Strasse.

After the great city fire of 1713, which was ignited by Russian troops during the Great Northern War , the building was rebuilt as a seven-axis, three-story plastered building with a mansard roof over older cellars. The façade, which has been changed several times over the years is through multi-storey and sill ledges horizontally divided. All floors have plaster blocks . The central arched window on the ground floor is the place of an earlier gate passage.

Under the building there are two cellars, of which the eastern one has a cross vault , while the western one was built as a barrel vault . The roof has four rows of dormers one above the other . The building was extensively renovated at the end of the 1990s. The attic was completely expanded on four floors. The city administration then moved into the building. Since then, the building of the historic town hall has mainly been used for representative and tourist purposes.
