Wolfgang Kauer (born February 20, 1957 in Linz ) is an Austrian writer living in Salzburg . He primarily writes prose and poetry.

Life

Wolfgang Kauer attended the Adalbert-Stifter-Gymnasium in Linz until he graduated in 1975. After eight months of military service in Upper Austria, he studied German , geography and artistic design in Linz and Salzburg. After working as a journalist, first literary publications in 1991.

Wolfgang Kauer lives in the city of Salzburg and works as an art teacher at grammar school and university and as a freelance writer . He is the author of poetry, prose and youth theater plays, district chronicler of Gnigl ​​and has organized the Salzburg author reading series Friday reading since 2007. For many years he has also devoted himself to studying the rock art of the northern Alps.

Wolfgang Kauer was elected the best contributor by Julian Schutting in 2010 by Julian Schutting and the second best contributor in 2011 by Sabine Gruber as part of the annual internal authors' competition organized by the Salzburg group of authors , and in the following years he was also among the top ranks under the jury of Bettina Balàka and Wolfgang Hermann .
