from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Teddybär total ( original spelling TEDDYBÄR TOTAL ) is a trade fair for teddy bear art that takes place on the last weekend in April in Münster in Westphalia and took place in Hennef for the first time in 1995 . According to the organizers, Teddybär total is the world's largest trade fair for teddy bears.

The fair includes a sales exchange for teddy artists and offers manufacturers a display opportunity. In addition, it shows historical exhibits in changing exhibitions. Linked to the fair is the Golden George , an international competition for teddy bear artists. The organizer of Teddybär total is Wellhausen & Marquardt Medien .

prehistory

The first teddy bear total was organized in 1995 by Jürgen Cieslik and Manfred Schepp in Hennef . It is developing into the supposedly world's largest teddy bear fair and attracting an international audience. Due to the closure of the event building, the fair moved to Münster in 2003. Frank Wohlfarth, publisher from Duisburg , initially took over the shares from Manfred Schepp and later from Jürgen Cieslik. As a result, he moved the fair in 2008 to Rheda-Wiedenbrück, where both exhibitor and visitor numbers fell sharply. With the 2012 fair, the publishing house Wellhausen & Marquardt Medien took over Teddybär total and has been organizing it again in Münster since then.

Exhibitor structure

Teddybär total is a meeting place for international teddy artists. They make up the majority of the exhibitors. Most of them are private individuals or micro-entrepreneurs who manufacture individual items and sell them at the fair. Manufacturers also use the platform to present their products and maintain the collectors' market. Accessory dealers offer fabrics and tools to make yourself.
