The Teimer is an elevation of the Lipper Bergland and also the name of a nature reserve in Kalletal- Bavenhausen in the Lippe district .
Characteristic
The Teimer in the Kalletal district of Bavenhausen is a shell limestone elevation with a height of 325.7 m .
The nature reserve on the mountain was first designated by ordinance of January 20, 1983 with a size of about 35 hectares. The protection area at the time included the Teimer, the Bamberg northeast of it and parts of the Rentorf Bachtal. When it was placed under protection, there was a ban on reforestation with conifers. The reason for the designation as a nature reserve was the species-rich flora and fauna; a count in 1981 revealed 53 different bird species that had their breeding and resting places here.
The current territory has been around 71 hectares since 1995, the nature reserve has been expanded to the east. It now mainly consists of woodruff beech forest , hedges and woods, fields, meadows and pastureland. The Rentorfer Bach is dammed to a fish pond southeast of the Teimer. Protection goals are the further renaturation of the partly straightened brook, the conversion of the spruce forests into deciduous forest as well as the preservation of the endangered animal and plant species. Various orchid species could still be detected in 1983, but no longer in 1995.
In the nature reserve there are various Bronze Age barrows that are designated as ground monuments. The Runenweg long-distance hiking trail runs over the Teimer .
