The Telegraphenradweg Berlin - Koblenz is an 800 km long long-distance cycle path that is currently being built and which follows the Royal Prussian optical telegraph line Berlin - Koblenz .
The idea of the Telegraphenradweg came about in 2007. In the following years, the routes between the stations were determined - the signposting with the route marker Telegraphenradweg should be in North Rhine-Westphalia from 2011 and from 2013 in Saxony-Anhalt. The Telegraphenradweg has been signposted in the districts of Jerichower Land and Bördekreis in Saxony-Anhalt since 2014. In Berlin and Brandenburg, the telegraph cycle route is not yet officially designated. For Brandenburg, there are explorations and projects to guide cycle paths from Berlin to the state border with a connection to the telegraph cycle path in Saxony-Anhalt (as of 2018).
Sights along the route
The route is intended to connect the former 62 telegraph stations in Prussia and the towns along the line to form a tourist route. Not a single station has been completely preserved in its original state today. Some stations or masts were recreated - often only symbolically. There are reconstructed or restored telegraph stations in various locations (see list of stations of the Prussian optical telegraph ).
