Telemark World Cup
The Telemark World Cup is the highest international competition series in telemark skiing . It has been held since 1995 and is organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS).
history
The first official World Cup was organized by the International Telemark Federation in 1995 after the Fédération Internationale de Ski took over telemarking . Until 1997, giant slalom and classic were held as disciplines. In 1998 the Classic Sprint was introduced as a further discipline. In 2012, the parallel sprint replaced the giant slalom.
Disciplines
Giant slalom
The giant slalom is the same as the alpine one, but with a jump of about 25 meters, the distance and the landing are evaluated.
Classic
The Classic is divided into two sub-disciplines, Super-G , Skating Technique and Super Telemark, the whole thing is combined with a jump, with one or two 360 ° steep wall curve and at least one additional element within a period of three to five minutes.
sprint
The sprint is like the Classic, but with a shorter duration (about one and a half minutes), but in two runs.
Parallel sprint
The parallel sprint is held in parallel with one jump and 11 to 17 goals.
