The Telemark World Cup 2015/16 was a series of telemarking competitions hosted by the FIS World Federation . It began on November 27, 2015 in Hintertux and ended on March 18, 2016 in Mürren . The World Cup comprised eight stations in Europe .

Defending the overall World Cup were in the men of the German Tobias Müller the and in the women's Swiss Amélie Reymond .

Overview

Season course

Philippe Lau from France won the overall men's world cup for the third time after 2011 and 2012 . So only the Norwegian Eirik Rykhus was ahead of him with five overall victories. He was followed in second place by the winner of the past two years, the German Tobias Müller , and in third place by the Swiss Nicolas Michel . In addition to triumphing in the overall World Cup, Lau also won the individual sprint and parallel sprint scores, while the crystal ball in the Classic World Cup went to Müller.

In the women's category, Amélie Reymond from Switzerland won the overall World Cup for the seventh time and for the third time in a row. Her streak since 2009 was only interrupted in the 2013 World Cup season by Sigrid Rykhus . In addition to the overall World Cup, she also won all discipline ratings for the sixth time. Behind her lay the Norwegian Mathilde Olsen Ilebrekke and the German Johanna Holzmann .

In the men's category, the first two of the overall World Cup, Lau and Müller, won 17 of the 19 competitions. In addition to them, Lau 's compatriot Charlie Fradet and Müller's team-mate Jonas Schmid each achieved a daily victory. For Fradet it was the premiere, for Schmid the second World Cup victory after January 19, 2013 in Rauris . On the women's side, overall World Cup winner Reymond could only be beaten once by Holzmann and Beatrice Zimmermann . In total, it stood at 113 World Cup victories after the 2015/16 season. Switzerland won the only mixed team competition of the season in Rjukan , Norway, ahead of Germany and Norway.

In the national rankings France won the men’s rankings, Switzerland won the women’s rankings and Switzerland also won the combined rankings for both genders.

Competition calendar

Compared to the previous year, the Telemark World Cup was expanded from seven to eight stations. Rauris and Thyon were no longer part of the calendar . In return, they made guest appearances this season in La Plagne , Les Contamines-Montjoie and Espot .
