Telepizza is a Spanish company with headquarters in San Sebastián de los Reyes , which acts as a franchisee for a chain of fast food restaurants in Europe , Asia , Africa and South America .
Telepizza was founded in 1987 as a family business in Madrid and operated a pizza service that could deliver the ordered products to your home. In 1993, the first pizzerias were opened in Poland, Portugal and Chile with the help of a franchising system. Three years later, in 1996, Telepizza went public . In the following years, the company expanded through its franchising model to other countries on several continents, including Iran in 2017, and expanded its online ordering system. After a takeover offer from the private equity company Permira in 2006, Telepizza was sold to the investment group. This participation ended in 2016 when it went public again. According to the company, more than 55% of over 1,300 branches in more than 15 countries were operated by franchisees in 2019.
The company is part of the Spanish small cap stocks index IBEX Small Cap .
