Tennis ( Japanese : テ ニ ス , Hepburn : Tenisu ) is a video game developed by Nintendo and published on January 14, 1984 in Japan, October 18, 1985 in North America and on September 1, 1986 in Europe for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES ) or the Family Computer (Famicom). In North America and Europe, the game was one of 18 launch titles for the NES.

Gameplay

Tennis is a sports game that includes both single-player and multiplayer modes . The game can be played with each other ( doubles against two computer opponents ) or against each other (both players in singles ). In the single player mode you can only play against a computer opponent who can choose between five different levels of difficulty.

Portings and new releases

On February 21, 1986, the game for the Famicom Disk System , which was exclusively available in Japan, was released.

On September 16, 2002 the game was released for the Nintendo e-reader in North America.

The game was also released as part of the Virtual Console offer on December 2, 2006 in Japan, December 18, 2006 and December 22, 2006 in Europe for the Nintendo eShop on the Wii .

For the virtual console of the Wii U , the game was released on October 30, 2013 in Japan and on October 10, 2013 in North America and Europe.
