geography
The Teouma rises almost in the center of the island, in the northeast of the Montagne Matera and runs steadily from north to south. In large parts, it follows a stepped terrain that stretches as far as Eratap in the southeast of Port Vila and forms the western headland of Teouma Bay . It flows in a strongly meandering course through the hill country and takes on numerous smaller rivers and temporary rivers . Below from the right and west Namaraï and Lololima and from the east and left just before the mouth of the Boufa . It also receives inflow from several lakes: Emaotul ( ⊙ ) and Emaotfer ( ⊙ ), as well as Duck Lake ( ⊙ ).
The river has the same name as a place in the estuary ( ⊙ ) and there is an important archaeological site: Lapita Site of Teouma.
