Malene Staal (born March 14, 1991 in Halden , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player .

Career

Malene Staal made her debut with the Norwegian third division team Sarpsborg IL at the age of 16. In the summer of 2011, the back player moved to the first division club Fredrikstad BK , for whom she scored 26 goals in her first season. Two years later, Staal moved to the second division HK Halden , with whom she rose to the elite series in 2014. With Halden, she was in the final of the Norgesmesterskap, the Norwegian Cup competition, on December 30, 2014, and took part in the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 2015/16 season .

Staal joined the German Bundesliga club VfL Oldenburg in the summer of 2017 . With Oldenburg, she won the DHB Cup in 2018 . She then moved to league competitor Buxtehuder SV . In February 2019 she returned to VfL Oldenburg.
