Shefa Province is a region of the South Pacific island state of Vanuatu . It is located south of the province of Malampa, which also belongs to Vanuatu, and north of Tafea .
As with all (of the six) provinces of Vanuatu also the name is derived Shefa from the name of the main islands or groups of islands located in the region, here the Sh epherd Islands and the islands É pi and É fa té decreases.
The province has around 54,000 inhabitants, with a land area of 1,455 km². The provincial capital Port Vila is also the capital of Vanuatu. The place is on the south coast of the island of Éfaté. Port Vila has about 34,000 inhabitants.
