Provinces of Vanuatu
The South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu has been divided into six provinces since 1994 .
Their names are made up of the respective first letters of the corresponding islands:

From 1985 to 1994 Vanuatu was divided into eleven island regions:
- Ambae and Maéwo (capital Longana )
- Ambrym (capital of Eas )
- Banks and Torres (capital Sola )
- Éfaté (capital Port Vila )
- Épi (capital Ringdove )
- Malakula (capital Lakatoro )
- Paama (capital Liro )
- Pentecost (capital Loltong )
- Santo and Malo (capital Luganville )
- Shepherd (capital Morua )
- Taféa (capital Isangel )
