The Terekta-comb ( Russian Теректинский хребет ) is a mountain range in the southern Russian Republic of Altai in the central part of the Altai Mountains .
The Terekta ridge extends over a length of about 120 km in WNW-OSE direction between the river valleys of Katun in the south and east and Ursul in the north. On the southern flank is the Uimon steppe and beyond the Katun the much higher Katun ridge . The Terekta ridge reaches a maximum height of 2926 m . The mountains mainly consist of crystalline mica schist and effusive rock . Swiss stone pine , larch and spruce grow on the wooded northern slopes . In the southern part of the mountains larches dominate. Dwarf birch bushes grow above an altitude of 2000 m . The summit area is covered by alpine flora and mountain tundra.
