Terence William Thomas Colfer

Terence William Thomas Colfer (born September 8, 1942 in London ) is a former Canadian ambassador .

Life

On August 20, 1966, Terence Colfer married Lynn Kirby. In 1965 he received a Bachelor of Political Science from the Royal Military College of Canada , Kingston.

Terence Colfer joined the foreign service in 1969 and has worked in Rome, Sydney, Detroit and Boston. In 1976 he was Vice Consul in Dallas Texas. From 1987 to 1988 he headed the overseas department. From 1988 to 1990 he headed the US Trade and Tourism Promotion Department. From 1994 to 1996 he headed the South Asia department. On June 2, 1996, he was appointed ambassador to Doha Qatar. On June 3, 1996, he was appointed ambassador to Kuwait City , where he was posted until July 14, 1999. On August 11, 1999, he was appointed ambassador to Tehran . In 2003 he was retired.
