Teresio Martinoli

Teresio Martinoli (born March 26, 1917 in Novara ; † August 25, 1944 ) was one of the most successful Italian fighter pilots of the Second World War . He was initially confirmed with 22 personal victories in the air, later a further kill was recognized, and others were "collectivized" (i.e. awarded to his unit) according to the practice of the Italian Air Force .

From September 1943 Sergeant Martinoli fought with the 4º Stormo of Aeronautica Cobelligerante Italiana on the side of the Allies . He was killed in an accident involving a P-39 Airacobra over the Mediterranean in August 1944 .
