Terhi Markkanen (born November 6, 1973 in Konnevesi ) is a former Finnish biathlete .

Terhi Markkanen started for Konneveden Urheilijat . She was part of the Finnish national team in the first half of the 1990s. The highlight of his career was participation in the 1992 Winter Olympics , where female biathletes were allowed to compete in Olympic races for the first time. In the first race, the sprint, she finished 28th with two shooting errors in standing and thus achieved one of her best international placings. In the individual she was 38th with four shooting errors. In the relay race, Markkanen finished fifth with Mari Lampinen and Tuija Sikiö . The Finn achieved her best result in the World Cup in the 1992/93 season in the Olympic test races in Lillehammer as 13th of a sprint. However , Markkanen did not qualify for the 1994 Winter Olympics and then ended her career.
