Teruo Murakami

Teruo Murakami ( Japanese 村上 輝 夫 , Murakami Teruo ; * 1938 in Aomori , Aomori Prefecture ; † December 17, 2013 ) was a Japanese table tennis player . In 1959 he became world champion in doubles and with the team.

Teruo Murakami took part in two world championships . He was 1959 world champion in doubles with Ichirō Ogimura and also with the Japanese team, where he remained undefeated in the team competition. In mixed with Kimiyo Matsuzaki he won silver. In 1961 he reached the final in the team competition.

At the Asian Championships in 1960 he won doubles with Ichirō Ogimura and in the team competition, the mixed with Kazuko Yamaizumi was second.

In the ITTF world rankings , he finished fourth in 1959.
