Kimiyo Matsuzaki

Kimiyo Matsuzaki ( Japanese 松 崎 キ ミ 代 , Matsuzaki Kimiyo ; born June 18, 1938 in Takase (today: Mitoyo ), Kagawa Prefecture ) is a former Japanese table tennis player . In the late 1950s and early 1960s she was one of the most successful table tennis players and won a total of seven world championship titles. In 1960 she was number one in the world rankings . Kimiyo Matsuzaki played with the Japanese penholder grip .

In 1997 Matsuzaki was inducted into the ITTF Hall of Fame .

She worked in the textile industry. Since her marriage (before May 1965) her name was Kimiyo Kurimoto ( 栗 本 キ ミ 代 ).
