Tetrathemistinae denotes a subfamily of libellulidae (Libellulidae) within the vial . It contains 19 genres and was established in 1917 by Tillyard . It is assigned all genera in which the wing triangle in the front wing has four sides because the upper vein is not straight. Whether these species are really close to one another is debatable. Their distribution extends over Africa , Asia and Australia .

features

The species of the subfamily Tetrathemistinae are mostly of very small size. The wing veins are very original in representatives of this subfamily. The last Antenodalader in the forewing is only incomplete in the genera Bironides and Microtrigonia , so it does not extend from the Costalader to the Radiusader .
