Company history

The company was founded in 1964 by Arthur Thöni as a locksmith's business and two years later built its first production building in Telfs . After the takeover of hose production from Elsinger & Söhne in 1970, an anodizing plant was opened in Telfs in 1975 . In 1984 the Landeck metalworks was taken over and the first aluminum extrusion plant was put into operation. In 1991, the Environmental Energy Technology division was founded as an independent business unit that deals with the production of renewable energies from organic waste and renewable raw materials .

Products

Extruded aluminum profiles: The Thöni company currently produces aluminum profiles on 5 extrusion plants in Telfs and Pfaffenhofen, which are used in the automotive, furniture and construction industries, among others. In September 2019, the fifth extrusion plant went into operation in the new plant in Pfaffenhofen. The raw material for the production of the aluminum components are bolts, which are made from 80% recycled aluminum material in the Kempten remelting plant.

Components for the automotive industry: Thöni handles long-term projects in the automotive sector with well-known German car manufacturers. The components for this sector are aluminum profiles that are processed on fully automated systems with the highest precision.

Biogas plants : In the field of environmental energy technology, Thöni plans and manufactures plants that process organic waste or renewable raw materials into biogas with the help of dry or wet fermentation technology.

Systems for continuous casting : The Casting Equipment division plans and manufactures horizontal and vertical continuous casting systems for the production of strips, profiles and round shapes made of copper and copper alloys, aluminum-tin and precious metals.

Mechanical and plant engineering: In the Thöni Manufacturing plant in Kempten, cubic cast steel workpieces are machined with the utmost precision for use. In addition to plant components for biogas and casting equipment plants, the Landeck metal works also produces steel components for external customers.

Hose : Thöni hoses are used for demanding areas of application such as fire fighting operations, in agriculture and in industry.
