The group of the Thuringian color pigeons , a subgroup of the color pigeons , includes several German domestic pigeon breeds , which were mainly bred in Thuringia . In contrast to the Saxon colored pigeons, they are mainly bred smooth-footed. Thuringian colored pigeons are smooth-headed or capped and more often wear a pointed cap .

According to Schütte, the following breeds are counted among the Thuringian colored pigeons and have been confirmed by the European Standard Commission for Pigeons (ESKT) of the European Association for Poultry, Pigeon, Bird, Rabbit and Cavia Breeding (EE):

Disappeared Thuringian colored pigeons are

• the copper-green Mühlhausen pigeon , whose black plumage had a strong green sheen. She was close to the ringed pigeons and the Thuringian gold beetle pigeons .
• the copper-green Hirschbacher Taube was black with a strong green sheen. It came from Hirschbach near Schleusingen and was exhibited in 1978.
• the Thuringian rocking pigeon, in the shape and drawing of the stork pigeon with a colored tail. The name of the swinging pigeon is also applied to the stork pigeon.
