Thai Naval Academy
The Royal Thai Naval Academy ( Thai โรงเรียน นาย เรือ , RTGS Rongrian Nairuea [ roːŋrian naːjrɯa ], English Royal Thai Naval Academy, RTNA ) is the naval academy that trains the officers of the Royal Thai Navy .

Since 1952 the Thai Naval Academy has been located in the city of Samut Prakan at the mouth of the Mae Nam Chao Phraya (Chao Phraya River) in the Gulf of Thailand , Tambon Paknam.
history
The Thai Naval Academy was founded in 1898 by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) and officially opened on November 20, 1906. Initially, the royal yacht Maha Chakri and several other boats were used as a school room. The academy later moved into the Wangdoem Palace in Thonburi , which is now the headquarters of the Thai Navy. The academy was then moved to Sattahip , Chonburi Province , before moving to its current location in 1952.
tasks
The academy offers undergraduate courses in natural sciences and engineering. In addition, the students ( cadets ) complete regular naval training, which after successful completion leads to an officer career in the Royal Thai Navy.

- Electrical engineering
- Engineering in the Navy
- Hydrography
- Management science
After successful completion, the cadets are accepted as lieutenants in the Thai Navy. Like the officers of the other branches of service, they receive their ceremonial swords from the king personally.
