The Antarctic petrel ( Thalassoica antarctica also Antarctic petrel, white-winged petrel or white-winged petrel) is a typical breeding bird in Antarctica .

The approximately deaf large animal from the family of the Petrels breed in colonies of a few hundred up to one million individuals on the coasts of the Antarctic continent. The nests lie on ledges or in crevices.

Crustaceans such as krill , but also fish, jellyfish and sea snails serve as food .
