Thanga Thambi ( Tamil : தங்கத் தம்பி) is a Tamil film by Francis Ramanath from 1967. The melodrama about two brothers who fall apart because of their wives, wrote the politician M. Karunanidhi .

action

The older brother Varadan marries Sundari. Varadan wants his younger brother Venu to find a rich wife, but Sundari would rather have a poor and submissive sister-in-law. Venu then marries the meek Parvathi.

Sundari didn't want to get pregnant for fear of ruining her figure, but then has a child at the same time as her sister-in-law. Parvathi raises both children, which ultimately leads to the estrangement of the two brothers.
