Thankmar von Münchhausen (diplomat)
Thankmar von Münchhausen , Freiherr von Münchhausen, (born November 3, 1835 in Meiningen , † December 18, 1909 in Lankwitz near Berlin ) was German consul in Jerusalem from 1874 to 1881 and was a Protestant association functionary.
His father was court marshal of the Duke of Saxony-Meiningen and owner of the manor. In 1886 he was one of the founders of the Evangelical League and the anti- ultramontanist imperial movement.
In 1877 he was a founding member of the German Palestine Association .
