The Aurora Project is a Dutch progressive metal band from Katwijk that was founded in 1999.

history

The band was formed in 1999 after the band members had played together for fun over and over again. Together they developed some songs, which resulted in their debut album … Unspoken Words , which was released worldwide in 2006 on the Dutch label DVS Records . Various guest appearances and a choir could be heard on the album . After the album was released, there were appearances to promote the album. In 2005 and 2008 the band played on the Dutch ProgPower Europe , the Dutch Symforce, and the German DeichbrandFestival. They also made a tour of various clubs in the Netherlands and Belgium together with Riverside and Vanden Plas . She also opened up for Pain of Salvation , RPWL and Threshold .

In 2008 the band went into the studio to record their new album Shadow Border under the direction of Joost van den Broek . The recordings took place in the Dutch Excess Studio ( Epica , Gorefest ). The album was mastered by Bob Katz . Shadow Border was released via The Laser's Edge in May 2009 .

In February 2013, the follow-up work Selling the Aggression was published .

style

The band plays classic progressive metal, which is comparable to the music of bands like Nightingale .
