The Beards ( engl. The beards) are an Australian comedy - and folk-rock band. The band addresses the benefits of having a beard in their songs . All of their previously released songs and albums have the word "Beard" in the title.
history
They were founded in 2005 in Adelaide , where they initially played a single concert. A local cult quickly grew around the band, and in 2007 they released their debut album The Beards . The band then played at the annual Big Day Out music festival in Adelaide in 2008 and 2009 . In 2009 they led the first Australian team to the World Beard and Mustache Championships in Alaska , where they also played at the opening ceremony.
The Beards have made music videos for their songs If Your Dad Doesn't Have a Beard, You've Got Two Mums , Got Me a Beard , Beard Accessory Store , You Should Consider Having Sex With a Bearded Man and Stroking My Beard , with If Your Dad Doesn't Have A Beard, You've Got Two Moms over 2.5 million, Got Me a Beard and You Should Consider Having Sex with a Bearded Man each had over 1.5 million clicks (as of September 2015).
They tour continuously through Australia and in spring 2014 through Europe with their “Euro - Bout to Grow a Beard Tour”. The concert was recorded in Cologne for the WDR television program Rockpalast .
In mid-2014 they released their fourth album, The Beard Album , with which they entered the Australian charts for the first time. At the end of the year they toured Europe again. In December 2015 the band announced their farewell tour.
