occupation

The Beast - uncanny depth , even Shark Terror - The beast from the depths , (Original title: Cruel Jaws - Fauci Crudeli ) is a 1995 directed by Bruno Mattei (known as William Snyder acted) in the United States turned Italian animal horror film about a murderous Shark. The German-language initial evaluation took place on video from December 21 of this year. He was a new adaptation of Peter Benchley Jaws to say, without the authors. Attempts have been made in some countries to market it as the fifth part of Great White Shark .

action

In the coastal town of Hampton Bay, Samuel Lewis, wealthy citizen of the city, wants to sell the water park operator Dag Snerensen in order to be able to build a lucrative hotel complex. Meanwhile, three young people dive to a marine wreck and are torn apart by a tiger shark . After the mutilated corpses were discovered, the city was in shock; The police chief wants to end the bathing season, but the mayor, under pressure from the entrepreneurs, would like to avoid negative advertising for the place and prevent the bathers from missing out on an upcoming windsurfing regatta.

The regatta is protected with technical aids such as metal nets; however, they prove to be inadequate, so that the shark finds further victims. On the day of the regatta, which is held despite everything, a particularly large number of people died. Only the sheriff, the water park owner and a shark expert manage to hunt down the killer.

criticism

Most of the critics didn’t let the film down; Some commented that "this rubbish someone has found who had actually produced it, is shameful." TVSpielfilm.de pointedly ruled: "Spielberg shark soup was a sharp stew, this is just a bowl of water broth here about it." The lexicon of international film was a bit more moderate: "With the exception of a few gruesome scenes, there is hardly anything new about the 'great white shark', instead familiar patterns of behavior that are strung together without any well-developed tension arcs."

Remarks

Mattei used quite a bit of stock footage for the film, as often . There are two versions for the German-speaking market, the shorter of which is released from the age of 12.
