The Boy Next Door is a short film by the Austrian director Gregor Schmidinger from 2008 .

action

Callboy Mark suffers from anxiety attacks and waits for his customer in the hotel room. The customer's son comes in and looks for his father because he had a nightmare. There is a monster in his room. At first Mark doesn't want to have anything to do with him, but then tries to distract the boy. The two start to romp, play the console and finally fall asleep in bed.

The boy's father comes back to the hotel room and sends his son out immediately. When Mark tries to get dressed, the boy overhears his father telling him that he paid to make Mark his friend - not his son's. But Mark refuses the money and leaves the hotel room. In the hallway, the boy comes to him from the next room and wants to give him his savings so that he can be his friend. Mark refuses the money and explains that he is already his friend. The boy says that Mark shouldn't go - because the monster is still there. But Mark encourages him by saying that the boy has already killed a monster tonight (in relation to himself).
