Sven Schluesselburg

Sven Schluesselburg (born October 1, 1981 in Nürtingen ) is a German show jumper .

Sven Schluesselburg is the son of the former show jumpers Veronika and Manfred Schluesselburg . He has two siblings and is married to the dressage rider Romina Schluesselburg (née Seifert).

Career

In 1999 he was nominated for the Golden Saddle due to his success in jumping competitions in the advanced level. In this test with horse change for young show jumping riders, he finished second behind Johannes Ehning . In the same year he became the German junior jumping champion with Come on Cavallina . Two years later, because of his success as a young rider, he received a scholarship from the Dieter Hofmann Foundation.

According to his own information, Sven Schlüsselburg was part of the sports promotion group at the Bundeswehr sports school in Warendorf from 2002 . He also completed several training stays with Ludger Beerbaum . At the Baden-Württemberg Championships in Schutterwald in 2007 , Schlüsselburg won the bronze medal, where he rode the mare Atlantis .

After Sven Schluesselburg had mostly presented horses at regional and smaller international tournaments for years after his junior / young rider days, he achieved his first major international successes in 2018 with the gray gelding Bud Spencer . In the Grand Prix of the CSI 2 * Donaueschingen-Immenhöfe he took fourth place, a month later Schluesselburg and Bud Spencer were sixth in the Grand Prix of the CHI Donaueschingen with only two time penalties. At the Munich Indoors , Schlüsselburg qualified for the final stage of the Riders Tour , which he finished with only one obstacle error .

At the beginning of 2019, Sven Schlüsselburg was nominated for a Nations Cup for the first time . In the Nations Cup of the United Arab Emirates , Schluesselburg was second best rider in the test with Bud Spencer without jumping faults. In the Badenia at the Maimarkt tournament in Mannheim , both of them again just missed the jump-off with a time error. At the German championships in Balve in 2019, Schlüsselburg finished fifth.

Schlüsselburg also competed in the Nations Cup in La Baule and Geesteren . In the first half of 2019, Germany competed in five CSIO 5 * national prizes, with Sven Schlüsselburg being the most frequently used rider with three appearances. Due to his achievements, Schlüsselburg also received a starting place at the German Nations Cup tournament in Aachen in July 2019, where he only achieved eighth place in the final Grand Prix with a time error. He also received the special honor award for the best style at the CSIO 5 * in Aachen.

After the CHIO Aachen, Schlüsselburg was accepted into the perspective squad. He was also part of the long list for the European Championships in Rotterdam .
