The Cavern Beatles is a Beatles - cover band from Liverpool , which has existed since the 1989th The Cavern Club allowed them to include the club's logo in their band logo.
history
The Cavern Beatles were originally founded under the name "The Merseymen", actually out of a beer whim. Derek Kerrigan was modeling for the Freemans Catalog at the time and had tons of suits left that he had no use for. They served as stage outfits for Kerrigan and his friends. The four booked the Alchemy Recording Studio in Liverpool and played a demo there, which was intended for US booking agencies. However, there were already a number of Beatles cover bands in the United States and so the band tried to professionalize and stayed in the United Kingdom. Then the line-ups changed, of the original line-up Rick Alan was active the longest. Since 2011 there is a new line-up with Paul Tudhope ( John Lennon ), Steve White ( Paul McCartney ), Craig Gamble ( George Harrison ) and Simon Ramsden ( Ringo Starr ).
The band name refers to the early days of the Beatles, who often performed in the Cavern Club. The group's repertoire consisted almost exclusively of songs from the early phase before Brian Epstein's discovery . After friends of the band bought the club, the group can officially use the name. Until 2003, the band concentrated on the early work of the Beatles from 1963, i.e. the two albums Please Please Me and With the Beatles . A year later the band expanded their repertoire with the albums A Hard Day's Night , Beatles for Sale and Help! . Since 2005 the remaining albums have also been considered. Horst Fascher has been the band's patron since 2012 .
reception
