The The Ching is a watercourse in Essex and the London Borough of Waltham Forest . It arises as a drain of Connaught Water in Epping Forest and flows south in the east of Chingford , where it forms the border between Essex and the London Borough of Waltham Forest to Woodford Golf Club at Chingford Hatch . South of Higham Park Station , The Ching turns west and joins the River Lea at the northern end of Banbury Reservoir .
