The Count is a band from Andernach that was founded in 1999 by singer Oliver, guitarist Martin, bassist Manuel and keyboardist Jens. The Count combine elements of Electro Wave , Dark Wave , Synth Rock and Gothic Rock in their music .
Band history
In 2000 the band recorded their first demo CD "Leave humanity in dust" with the two songs "Worst Case" and "Der Übermensch". In 2001 the much more mature CD "Music for the slaved new world" followed, which contains six songs. In contrast to the early works, this CD sounds more electronic and well thought-out and is a significant step in the band's further development. With the CD, The Count achieved national attention for the first time in various scene magazines and developed into an insider tip within the black scene .
In the following time The Count played at numerous festivals (13th Wave-Gotik-Treffen (2004), Schattentanz Festival (2004), Franken-Schwarz Festival (2003), Herbstnächte Festival (2002), Feuertanzfestival (2002), Herbstnächte Festival ( 2001)) and club concerts a. a. in Berlin , Hamburg and Düsseldorf .
In December 2004, The Count signed a record deal with the label Dark Wings and published in February 2005 their first album "Zero".
The Count also contributed songs to various compilations with "Lost", "Sinus" and "IQ" , which found their way into the playlists of hip clubs. With the release of their CD "Zero" at the latest, the band was able to establish itself as a newcomer in the black scene .
