reception

While Steve Huey described the production as the standard of the early Def-Jam works in his review on Allmusic , he particularly emphasized the rap and text arts Slick Rick. "His carefully constructed narratives are filled with vivid details and witty asides and his cartoon-like sense of humor has influenced numerous other rappers." As dark side of the album he called the vulgar and misogynistic attitude, especially in the opener Treat Her Like a Prostitute for Wear come.
