The Gyres were a band that was formed in Blantyre near Glasgow in the 1990s, shortly before the popularity of Britpops .

The Gyres played many gigs in Europe and Japan and toured with artists such as Cast , Oasis , Reef , Echobelly , Bon Jovi and David Bowie . A big financial success was denied the band.
