The Menzingers are an American punk rock band from Philadelphia .

Band history

The Menzingers emerged in the small town of Scranton from the punk bands Bob & the Sagets and Kos Mos . The members Tom May and Greg Barnett, both singers and guitarists, Eric Keen on bass guitar and drummer Joe Godino recorded a demo in 2006 and thus got a record deal with Go-Kart Records . In the summer of the following year they made their debut with the album A Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology . After switching to the Red Scare label , the EP Hold on Dodge and the second album Chamberlain Waits appeared with Matt Allison as producer. They also went on tour with Broadway calls in 2009 . All of this increased their popularity, but did not bring them the breakthrough.

It wasn't until they switched to the bigger punk label Epitaph Records that their career got a boost. They matured musically and the album On the Impossible Past brought them placements in the Heatseeker and indie charts in the USA in 2012 . Two years later, the successor Rented World appeared , which brought them first place in the official album charts at number 50. They came in at number 6 in the indie charts.

The Menzingers named their fifth album After the Party, alluding to the fact that the members were all in their 30s by now . It was released at the beginning of February 2017 and made it onto the official Billboard 200 again. It reached number two in the indie charts and for the first time the band was also able to place in the German album charts .
