Broadway Calls is an American pop punk / punk rock group from Rainier , Oregon . Broadway Calls have worked as a support band for Bad Religion , The Offspring , Alkaline Trio , The Gaslight Anthem , Rancid and The Bouncing Souls , among others .

The band is currently under contract with SideOneDummy Records .

Founding of the band and "Call the Medic" (2005–2006)

Broadway Calls was founded in winter 2005/2006 by Ty Vaughn ( vocals , guitar ), Matt Koenig (vocals, bass ) Robert Baird (guitar) and Josh Baird ( drums ), after Ty, Robert and Josh had long been in various other bands such as Mortimer's Lunchbox, Looking For Link and Countdown To Life made music together. After only playing one show in her hometown Rainier, Broadway Calls went on tour with the befriended label Daggermouth . This tour was a complete success, which gave the young band a certain degree of recognition in the hardcore punk scene. In 2005 the debut EP "Call the Medic" was released on the State of Mind label.

"Broadway Calls" (2007-2008)

Still represented in the USA by State of Mind , Broadway Calls signed a contract with Smallman Records in 2007 , which will represent them in Canada from now on and take over the release of their first album there. The first album "Broadway Calls" was released on July 10, 2007. Another tour of the USA followed.

A year after the publication of Broadway Calls , the band moved to Adeline Records , a record label owned by Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day , among others . The band's first album was re-released on March 18, 2008. Shortly before release, the band shot the music video for their first single Call It Off in Redding . They also played a couple of shows during the month, including Bad Religion .

At the beginning of 2008 there was another USA tour with Ruiner. During the tour, the second guitarist Robert Baird was kicked out of the band. No other reason was given, but a blog post by Ty reveals that Robert just didn't fit into the band.

In May 2008 Broadway Calls played their first shows in Europe at the Give It A Name Festival 2008 in London . This festival was followed by a UK tour with All Time Low and Cobra Starship .

Back in the USA in June 2008 they played three shows on the west coast together with Alkaline Trio , after which they were represented on the Vans Warped Tour 2008. During the Warped Tour, they released a split EP on July 15, 2008 with Teenage Bottlerocket on Adeline Records .

After the Warped tour was over, the band took a break from live to shoot the music video for their second single, "Back To Oregon". They returned to the stage in September 2008 and played a few shows with The Flatliners before touring the US again in October 2008. During the tour they played with Polar Bear Club , Crime In Stereo , The Swellers and Smartbomb . The tour concluded in Los Angeles , where Broadway Calls supported Alkaline Trio and The Gaslight Anthem .

"Good Views, Bad News" (2009 - now)

After their 2008 tour, Broadway Calls turned to their second album. In addition, a European tour was planned together with Alkaline Trio , starting on January 22nd, 2009, which included shows in Belgium , Germany , Holland , Austria , Italy , Switzerland , France and England . Shortly before the tour started, the band announced via MySpace that they would be working with SideOneDummy Records from now on .

On July 21, 2009, the first single Be All That You Can't Be of the new album was released. The band's second album, Good Views, Bad News , was released on August 18, 2009 and peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart.

On August 6th, 2009, the accompanying music video was released on the AbsolutePunk.net website.

The band also performed at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in England on August 29th and 30th, 2009 . These two festival dates were between two shows together with The Offspring on August 25 in Manchester , on August 26 in London , on September 1 in Munich and on September 2 in Milan .

On August 9, 2010 it was announced that bassist Matt Koenig had left the band. He was replaced by Adam Willis.
